Chevy vehicles are all produced by the Chevrolet Motor Car Company. Today, Chevy is known for being one of the most popular brands, and this long-standing reputation comes from the fact that the company opened on November 3rd, 1911. This makes the Chevrolet motor car company over 100 years old.
2. Detroit is the home of Chevy.

Originally, Chevrolet was founded in Detroit, Michigan. Since then, Chevrolet has expanded across the United States and the world at large, but Chevrolet is still based in Detroit MI.
3. The Chevy bowtie logo was introduced two years after its founding.
Today, all Chevy vehicles have the iconic bowtie logo. This logo is iconic because it has been around for over 100 years. That being said, the bowtie logo wasn’t around at the time of the Chevrolet founding. Instead, it was introduced to the Chevy brand two years after in 1913.

Even though the bowtie logo is one known by many, there is actually very little known about the logo itself. In fact, there are three different stories about where the bowtie logo comes from. To this day, it is unclear exactly why this logo was selected.
There are stories about the logo coming from a French hotel, whereas other stories suggest that the founder Durant sketched the logo while eating chicken one night. We probably will never know exactly why the bowtie logo was selected or where it originates.

Even though there are tons of Chevy vehicles today, the very first model to be produced was the Series C Classic Six. It is one of the only vehicles that the Buick race car driver Louis Chevrolet drove while being part of the company.
Interestingly, this vehicle didn’t last very long. Although Chevrolet loved the model, founder William Durant thought it was too expensive.
6. The first Chevy was sold for $2500.

The very first Chevrolet was sold for a little under $2500. At the time, this was an incredibly expensive vehicle. Can you imagine buying a brand-new vehicle for this amount, let alone from the Chevrolet brand!
7. The Camaro was supposed to be called the Panther.

One of the most popular Chevy vehicles today is the Camaro. Even though the Camaro has been popular since it was created, it hasn’t always been called the Camaro. Instead, it was originally called the Panther.
Chevrolet named this vehicle the Panther as a nod to being superior to the Mustang. After all, Panthers eat Mustangs. However, Chevrolet decided to change the name so that the safety of the vehicle was not overlooked.

One of the most popular luxuries of the modern era is LTE Wi-Fi. LTE Wi-Fi allows cell phones to hook up to the Internet without using any data. Today, it’s common for vehicles to offer LTE Wi-Fi, all thanks to Chevrolet. This happened in 2015, along with GMC, Buick, and Cadillac models.

Motorsports aren’t the only sports Chevy cares about. In 2012, Chevy also became a huge supporter of British football, sponsoring English teams like Manchester United and Liverpool FC.
13. Some 100 Chevy-editions have Pandora songs that mention the brand.
In honor of its 100 years on the market, Chevrolet created its own Pandora station that includes the 100 best country songs that reference Chevy trucks somehow. Some songs featured on the station include “Tim McGraw” by Taylor Swift, “Dirt Road Diary” by Luke Bryan, and “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” by Big and Rich.
14. The Chevrolet Silverado was the third most popular vehicle in sales in 2021.

2021 was not a good year for vehicle sales. Because of COVID-19, chips for new vehicles were at an all-time low, resulting in all-time low sales for new vehicles. Regardless of this fact, Chevy did pretty well.
The third most popular vehicle of 2021 was the Chevrolet Silverado. Around 500,000 models were sold in 2021.
Although it is great that Chevy could still sell vehicles during 2021, this is a decrease in sales from current years. That isn’t saying a lot since virtually all vehicles saw a major decrease in sales in 2021.

What is the story of the bowtie logo?
Unfortunately, we do not know the official story of the Chevrolet logo.
