  • The 10 Best Blenders under $100

    1. Ninja BL610 Blender – Best Overall

    NINJA BL610

Our top pick is the Ninja BL610 Professional 72-Ounce Countertop Blender, a well-designed, reasonably priced machine that is powerful enough for heavy-duty blending. This model feels very sturdy and has a high capacity.

With an impressive 72-ounce capacity and a simple five-button interface, the seven-pound BL610 is easy to use and conveniently sized. In testing, we found that the surprisingly quiet 1,000-watt motor and sturdy six-blade assembly did a good job crushing ice.

Though the base feels very sturdy, the plastic container is less durable and may crack or break with prolonged use. Unfortunately, Ninja’s one-year warranty doesn’t cover the pitcher. We also found that the blades can be difficult to clean.

To conclude, we think this is the overall best blender for under $100.

    Pros
    • Large capacity
    • Simple interface
    • Fairly lightweight
    • Reasonably priced
    • Quiet but powerful motor
    • Sturdy base and a strong six-blade assembly
    • One-year warranty
    • Includes a 25-recipe cookbook
    Cons
    • Less durable plastic pitcher not covered by warranty
    • Blades can be difficult to clean

    2. Hamilton Beach 58148A Blender – Best Value

    HAMILTON BEACH 58148A

If you’re looking for a model that’s easier on your wallet, the Hamilton Beach 58148A Power Elite Blender could be your pick. This lightweight model is less powerful and a little more difficult to operate but offers plenty of functionality at an impressive price.

Weighing only 5.62 pounds, the Power Elite has a small but sturdy 40-ounce glass container and features a patented Wave Action design that forces ingredients down onto its blades. The five-button interface offers 12 functions, so you may need to spend a little time with the manual. The jar, blades, and lid are all conveniently dishwasher-safe, though we found that food often gets stuck beneath the blades, making cleaning trickier.

The 700-watt motor is not as powerful as some models, but will work fine for most uses. Our least favorite feature was the plastic collar on the base, which isn’t very durable and may crack easily. Hamilton Beach offers a generous three-year warranty, though you’ll have to pay shipping fees.

    Pros
    • Low cost
    • Lightweight
    • Sturdy glass container
    • 12 functions with patented blending design
    • Dishwasher-safe blades, lid, and jar
    • Generous three-year warranty
    Cons
    • More difficult to use interface
    • Smaller capacity
    • Less powerful motor
    • Less durable plastic collar
    • Must pay shipping fees under warranty

    3. Ninja Countertop Blender BL660

    NINJA BL660

Another of our top picks is the Ninja Countertop Blender BL660, a powerful, high-capacity model that also works well for single servings.

With a large 72-ounce plastic pitcher and two 16-ounce lidded travel cups, the BL660 can blend for a party or just for you. It has five simple buttons and a powerful 1,100-watt motor, plus a specific single-serve blade assembly, which will allow you to blend in the travel cups. The plastic is dishwasher-safe and BPA-free.

This light 7.6-pound machine does have a few drawbacks, including less durable rubber components on the blade assemblies, a lid that is prone to leaking, and a base that may crack. It’s also a very loud machine. Luckily, Ninja offers a one-year warranty and replacement parts.

    Pros
    • Single-serve feature with dedicated blade assembly
    • Includes large pitcher and two travel cups
    • Powerful motor and simple interface
    • Dishwasher-safe and BPA-free plastic
    • One-year warranty and replacement parts available
    • Reasonably priced
    Cons
    • Less durable rubber, lid, and base
    • Very loud
    • Plastic pitcher

    4. NutriBullet 12-Piece High-Speed Blender

    NutriBullet NBR-1201

The attractively-priced NutriBullet NBR-1201 12-Piece High-Speed Blender/Mixer System could also be a good pick, though it has a smaller capacity and isn’t as durable. Designed to break down seeds and skins, this blender potentially offers higher levels of nutrients.

This well-designed silver bullet blender has a less-powerful 600-watt motor and comes with extractor and milling blades. The package includes BPA-free 18- and 24-ounce blending cups, plus patented resealable lids and a recipe book.

At 7.05 pounds, this machine is fairly heavy for a bullet blender. In testing, we found that the gasket ring breaks and leaks easily. The largest capacity you can blend is 24 ounces, which may not be enough if you’re looking to blend larger quantities. NutriBullet offers a standard one-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Attractive design and price
    • Both extractor and milling blades
    • Includes BPA-free blending cups with lids
    • Potentially higher nutrient levels
    • One-year warranty
    Cons
    • Heavy for a bullet blender
    • Less powerful motor
    • Smaller capacity
    • Less durable gasket ring

    5. Ninja BL480 Nutri Ninja Blender

    Ninja BL480

Ninja’s BL480 Nutri Ninja Blender is well suited to single-serving blending and offers quite a few features. Unfortunately, it’s also fairly clunky and not very durable.

This light 5.5-pound machine has a powerful 1,000-watt motor and includes 24- and 18-ounce travel cups with resealable lids. The interface is somewhat clunky and difficult to use, but the machine offers a range of preset and manual options, including a timer that can count up or down, depending on your needs.

In testing, we found that the lids do not seal well and the machine as a whole feels less durable. It’s also a very loud blender, so it may not be your best option if you’re noise-sensitive. The small capacity means it won’t work well for large quantities. Ninja offers a one-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Good for single-serving blending
    • Lightweight
    • Reasonably priced
    • Powerful motor
    • Many features, including presets and a timer
    • One-year warranty
    Cons
    • Smaller capacity
    • Very loud
    • Less durable construction
    • Lids may leak

    6. KitchenAid KSB1570SL 5-Speed Blender

    KitchenAid KSB1570SL

The KSB1570SL 5-Speed Blender from KitchenAid is well-priced for the number of features it offers, though it has a smaller capacity and is not very durable.

This heavy 10-pound model has a die-cast metal base and comes in several attractive colors. The simple interface is easy to use and well-designed, offering a choice of five speeds. The motor is programmed to automatically sense the load and adjust settings for the best possible blending. We also liked the soft start feature, which allows for smoother blending without you having to monitor the blender. The 56-ounce pitcher is made of BPA-free plastic and comes with a lid with a two-ounce ingredient cap, so you can easily add ingredients while blending.

We found that this model isn’t as durable as we’d prefer. The plastic pitcher may leak, the blades get stuck fairly easily, and we found reports of rusting screws. KitchenAid does offer a one-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Sturdy die-cast metal base
    • Attractive design and simple interface
    • Automatic settings adjustment and soft start feature
    • BPA-free plastic pitcher with ingredient cap
    • Well-priced
    • One-year warranty
    Cons
    • Heavy
    • Less durable plastic pitcher and blades
    • Reports of rusting screws
    • Smaller pitcher capacity

    7. Oster 1200 Pro Blender

    Oster Blender Pro 1200

Oster’s 1200 Pro Blender with Food Processor Attachment works well for blending and food processing and comes at a reasonable price. The downside? It’s not the most durable model we reviewed and isn’t especially well-designed.

This heavy 13.45-pound blender has a strong 1,200-watt motor and a stainless steel dual direction blade assembly. Though somewhat complicated to use, the interface offers a choice of seven speeds and a range of presets. The package includes a five-cup food processing bowl and a six-cup glass pitcher, plus a 24-ounce travel cup.

In testing, we found that the blender may begin to leak with heavy use. Though the pitcher itself is durable, the machine as a whole doesn’t feel very sturdy, and replacement parts can be difficult to find. Oster offers an impressive 10-year warranty for the metal drive and a three-year regular warranty.

    Pros
    • Seven speeds and several presets
    • Dual direction stainless steel blade assembly
    • Strong 1,200-watt motor
    • Includes large food processing and blending pitchers
    • Reasonably priced
    • Lengthy 10-year metal drive and three-year regular warranty
    Cons
    • Complicated interface
    • Heavy
    • Not very durable
    • Replacement parts hard to find

    8. Cuisinart CPB-300 BPA-Free Blender

    Cuisinart CPB-300

Another option is the Cuisinart CPB-300 350 Watt BPA-Free Blender, a compact, easy to use machine sold at a very low price.

This small four-pound model has a fairly attractive, streamlined design and a straightforward three-button interface. The motor has less power, at only 350 watts, but the blender offers standby and auto-stop features and comes with two interchangeable blade assemblies. The package includes a 32-ounce blending jar, an eight-ounce chopping cup, and two 16-ounce travel cups, all made of dishwasher-safe, BPA-free plastic.

In testing, we found that the motor isn’t powerful enough to smoothly blend ice or hard-frozen fruit. Though the plastic components hold up in the dishwasher, they do turn cloudy, which is less attractive. The small capacity may be an issue if you need to blend larger quantities. Cuisinart backs up this machine with a good three-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Low cost
    • Lightweight and compact
    • Attractive design and simple interface
    • Includes two blade assemblies and several blending containers
    • Dishwasher-safe, BPA-free plastic
    • Lengthy three-year warranty
    Cons
    • Less powerful motor
    • Plastic components turn cloudy in the dishwasher
    • Smaller capacity

    9. Addwin Countertop Blender

    Addwin

The Addwin Countertop Blender offers a very powerful motor and plenty of blending capacity but is also heavier and less durable than many of the other models we tested.

This machine handles ice well, with an impressive 2,200-watt motor that spins at 45,000 rpm. The plastic pitcher has a good 70-ounce capacity and a sturdy rubber lid. We found the button and dial interface unattractive but functional, and the blender heavier than anticipated, at 8.65 pounds.

Though the pitcher is made of shatter-proof Tritan, we found several reports of it cracking, and the blade may rust over time. This blender is also quite loud, so it may not be for you if you prefer a quieter machine. Addwin offers a basic one-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Powerful motor
    • High capacity pitcher with a sturdy lid
    • Reasonably priced
    • One-year warranty
    Cons
    • Heavy
    • Very loud
    • Unattractive interface
    • Less durable plastic pitcher and rusting blades

    10. BLACK+DECKER BL1210BG Blender

    BLACK DECKER BL1210BG

Our least favorite model is the BLACK+DECKER BL1210BG Blender, a fairly heavy and not very powerful blender with a basic design.

Though attractively priced, this blender weighs a heavy 8.2 pounds, partly because the six-cup pitcher is made of sturdy glass. The 700-watt motor isn’t quite strong enough to smoothly blend ice or very frozen produce, and in testing, we found that it may begin to smoke with heavy use.

The BL1210BG comes with a four-tip stainless steel blade and convenient non-slip rubber feet. The jar, blade, and lid are all dishwasher-safe and simple to clean. BLACK+DECKER offers a good two-year warranty.

    Pros
    • Very low price
    • Sturdy, high-capacity glass pitcher
    • Dishwasher-safe jar, blade, and lid
    • Stainless steel blade
    • Good two-year warranty
    Cons
    • Fairly heavy
    • Less powerful motor that may smoke
    • Basic design

Buyer’s Guide: Finding the Best Blenders Under $100

You’ve seen our ranking of the 10 best low-cost blenders. But how do you pick the best one for your specific needs? We’re here to help with this guide to the features you may want to keep an eye out for.

    Power

You want your blender to be able to grind and crush well. The first thing you may want to look at is the wattage of your model’s motor. If the wattage is too low, the motor may not be strong enough to blend harder ingredients like ice or frozen fruit. A wattage over 1,000 should be plenty for most blending, but if you want a really powerful machine, you may want to purchase a model with closer to 2,000 watts of power.

    Blades

The blade assembly is the part of your blender that does all of the grinding, chopping and crushing work. To make sure your new blender will work well, you may want to pay attention to the quality and material of the blades. Strong blades are typically made of durable stainless steel with four to six sharp tips. Some blenders come with multiple blade assemblies, which can be useful if you use your blender for different tasks.

To keep your blender working well, you may need to replace the blades at some point. If you plan to use your blender extensively, you may want to check if the manufacturer offers replacement blades.

    Price

Don’t worry, there are plenty of great models in the under-$100 range. But are you willing to spend that $100, or would you prefer the lowest-cost model you can get? Before you start shopping, you may want to decide how much you’re willing to spend on a new blender.

    Capacity

Do you typically blend large quantities or single servings? If you want a blender that will work for a party or large amounts of cooking, you may want to look for a pitcher with at least 50 ounces of capacity. Keep in mind that the maximum liquid capacity is typically lower than the pitcher’s full capacity.

If you prefer to blend single smoothies or small amounts of sauce or soup, you may prefer a compact, lightweight bullet blender. These machines typically come with travel cups that you can blend a smoothie or shake in, saving you from having to clean multiple containers. You may also like the smaller footprint, which will fit in even the smallest kitchen.

    Pitcher Material

Blending pitchers are generally made of either glass or plastic. Glass pitchers are more attractive and sturdier but also heavier and can be more expensive. Plastic pitchers, on the other hand, are lightweight and cost-effective, but may be more likely to crack, stain, or turn cloudy. If you want the most durable plastic pitcher, you may want to look for one that’s made of Tritan, a durable, shatterproof type of plastic. If you’re concerned about chemicals, you may also want to make sure the plastic is BPA-free.

    Warranty

If anything goes wrong, would you like your investment to be protected by a good warranty? Manufacturers offer a range of warranties, covering the standard one year or going up to 10 or 15 years. You may also want to pay attention to the details of your model’s warranty, as some may only cover the motor or charge shipping or replacement fees.

    Conclusion

Our favorite blender is the Ninja BL610 Professional 72-Ounce Countertop Blender, a powerful, well-priced machine with a conveniently high capacity. If your budget is smaller, you may be interested in the Hamilton Beach 58148A Power Elite Blender, a compact, lightweight model that offers plenty of power for most blending.

Blenders are useful, multi-functional appliances, but with so many models on the market, it can be tough to find a great one that won’t break the bank. We hope this list of the 10 best blenders under $100, complete with detailed reviews and a quick buyer’s guide, help you find a great blender that fits into your budget.
