- Last updated:
Juicing has become very popular. Some people juice a variety of fruits, vegetables, and greens daily. Electric juicers are stronger and better for those who often juice large amounts. Other people prefer juice in smaller quantities, either for drinking or cooking with. Manual juicers are great in those circumstances.
There are so many juicers on the market that shopping for one can be a very daunting job. We have tried to take some of the guesswork out of it for you by reviewing a ton of manual juicers and putting together a list of eight that we think are the best out there. Hopefully, you will learn some of the good, as well as the not-so-good, things to look for.

The 8 Best Manual Juicers:
1. ROVSUN Hand Press Manual Juicer – Best Overall
The ROVSUN Hand Press Manual Fruit Juicer is a commercial grade juicer with a heavy-duty cast iron body and a 304 stainless steel strainer. It has a long, lightweight handle with a comfortable rubber grip to reduce any stress on your hand. This handle does tend to fall down easily when it’s in an upright position. ROVSUN has provided a safety hat to lock it into place so that it won’t fall on you accidentally.
This juicer is super-easy to use. It only takes three steps before you’re ready to enjoy your fresh juice. You cut your fruit in half, place the flat side down on the pressing plate, and press down the handle. Clean-up is just as effortless. The strainer and funnel are both removable from the unit, making clean-up a breeze.
Note: This particular juicer leaves a lot of pulp in your juice. If you don’t like pulp, we would recommend a different juicer for you.
To conclude, we think this is the best manual juicer available this year.
- Commercial grade
- Heavy-duty cast iron body
- 304 stainless steel strainer
- Safety hat
- Long, light handle with rubber grip
- Easy to use – three steps to get juice
- Easy to clean
- Handle comes down easily
- Lots of pulp
2. OXO Good Grips Manual Citrus Juicer – Best Value
The OXO Good Grips Small Citrus Juicer is a 2.5-ounce juicer with its own measuring cup, and a strainer built into the reamer. The reamer fits on the top of the measuring cup, but it doesn’t lock in its position very well. You may have to help hold it in place with the hand you’re holding the cup with.
The measuring cup has a drip-free pour spout, so you can transfer your juice into whatever container you like without making a mess. The measuring cup and reamer are both BPA-free for your health.
You can remove the reamer from the cup for easier cleaning. The reamer is a breeze to clean, but the cup takes a little more effort. This juicer is pretty small, not leaving a whole lot of room for your hand to fit into. What makes it even more challenging is that the cup has a slightly narrowed neck, which makes the opening even smaller.
To conclude, we think this is the best manual juicer for the money.

- Built-in 2.5-ounce measuring cup
- Strainer built into reamer
- Reamer fits onto cup
- Drip-free pour spout
- Disassembles for cleaning
- BPA-free
- Juicer lid doesn’t lock on well
- Small
- Shape makes it difficult to clean
3. Lexen GP27 Manual Juicer – Best for Wheatgrass
The Lexen Juicer (GP27) is also known as the original healthy juicer and the manual wheatgrass juicer. This unit does more than wheatgrass, though. It’s a multipurpose juicer that works well with kale, spinach, or any other leafy green. It will also work on harder fruits and vegetables like apples or carrots. Healthy Juicer does recommend looking at other juicers that are specially made for hard foods if you’ll want to be juicing a lot of those. This one can do the job but was designed more for softer foods.
The Lexen Juicer is made of durable plastic to ensure that it’ll last you quite a while if you use it as directed. It’s effortless to put together. It doesn’t require the use of any tools; your fingers work fine. It also comes apart to make clean-up easier. You don’t want to be in a hurry when using this juicer, though. It assembles and comes apart easily, but there are lots of pieces that can be a bit time-consuming.
The manual says that you need to either use the suction cup or the clamp that is supplied to secure the unit during use. We found that you really need to use both, or else it moves around a lot. While juicing, the remaining solid food is pushed out the end that’s opposite from the handle, and the juice flows backward and comes out by the handle. Some of the liquid makes it out with the solid food and drips on the counter. You may want to have a small bowl underneath it to avoid a mess.
You can see our rundown of the best wheatgrass juicers here
- Multipurpose juicing
- Made from durable plastic
- Easy to use
- Easy to clean
- Has a lot of parts
- Moves around a lot if suction cup and clamp aren’t used
- Juice comes out wrong side and drips out
4. Bellemain Lemon Squeezer/Juice Extractor
The Bellemain Stainless Steel Lemon Squeezer is a heavy, 13.5-ounce, stainless steel juicer with superior strength. It has the right size of cup for any small citrus fruit to fit into. Larger oranges and grapefruit are too big. We noticed that the cup showed some pitting after minimal use.
This unit has long, thick, silicone-bonded handles to ensure the best comfort for your hand, and give you the best leverage to get the most juice. There is an issue with the handles, though. This lemon squeezer is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning, but the rubber on the handles isn’t molded on. That means if you throw it in the dishwasher, water will get in under the rubber coating and allow it to slip off.
- Stainless steel
- Superior strength
- Thick, silicone-bonded handles
- Long handles for leverage
- Dishwasher safe
- Heavy (13.5 oz.)
- Juices small citrus only
- Metal shows minor pitting after minimal use
- Water gets under rubber handle and it slips off
5. Sunhanny Manual Citrus Juicer
The Sunhanny Citrus Juicer is made of food-grade ABS material that is also BPA-free. This isn’t your standard juicer, though. It can be used in several different ways. The top cup helps to hold your fruit, and when you’re finished juicing, you can use the collection container for drinking from. The lid can be flipped over, so that it stores neatly inside the cup, but it can also act as an egg separator when in this inverted position.
This juicer comes with two different sizes of reamers. One has 12 teeth to get the maximum amount of juice out of lemons, limes, or other smaller citrus fruits. The other is a three-claw large reamer to get the best juice from oranges or other bigger fruits. There’s also a large 17-ounce capacity cup that catches your juice.
This is a good juicer for someone on a budget. It does the job, but it takes a lot of effort on your part to get all the juices out. The strainer doesn’t fit in the cup very well, so you have to play with it to get it to stay where it needs to be. The plastic that this product is made from is thin, so it isn’t the sturdiest juicer on the market.
It can be challenging to keep the reamers cleaned out, as the pulp from your fruit catches between the teeth and gets stuck there. This can make the overall cleaning more difficult, too. There are no written instructions included with this juicer, so you just have to see what works best for you.
- Made of food grade ABS material
- BPA-free
- Multifunctional
- Two sizes of reamers
- Large capacity
- Takes quite a bit of effort
- Strainer doesn’t fit in cup very well
- Thin plastic
- Can be difficult to clean
- No written instructions
6. TOPQSC Hand Citrus Juicer
The TOPQSC Hand Juicer Citrus Juicer is made from all food grade, FDA-approved, BPA-free plastic. This plastic is safe for all food use; however, it is thin plastic, so this appliance won’t last forever. It also has an anti-slip silicone pad to hold the cup in place during use.
This juicer has multiple functions. If the reamer is facing up, it’s suitable for juicing lemons, oranges, and other citrus fruits. When you flip the reamer over and have it pointing downward, it does excellently at juicing watermelon, pomegranate, and large fruits. The juice is caught in a cup that holds one cup of liquid.
This juicer is easy to assemble and take apart to clean, but it does have a lot of pieces to keep track of. They do all stack together nicely for storing, though.
- Multi-functional
- Made from food grade, FDA-approved, BPA-free plastic
- Anti-slip pad
- Easy to clean
- Lots of pieces
- Thin plastic
7. Zulay Manual Juicer for Lemon & Lime
The Zulay Kitchen Metal Lemon Lime Squeezer is so easy to use that even kids can juice their own fruit. It’s top rack dishwasher safe for easy cleaning and doesn’t take up a lot of storage space.
This juicer has two-in-one metal press bowls. It’s only suitable for juicing limes and small lemons, though. Anything larger is just too big for this unit. It also takes a lot to get the juice out of cold fruit. Try to have your fruit at room temperature when you’re ready to use it.
This is a good quality juicer for its price point, but it’s made from cheaper metal that gets corroded from the citrus juice and will only last about six months before something breaks.
- Two-in-one metal press bowls
- Easy to use and store
- Easy to clean/dishwasher safe
- Juices small citrus only
- Hard to juice cold fruit
- Metal gets corroded from citrus juice
- Only lasts about six months
8. Happybuy Manual Wheatgrass Juicer Extractor
The Happybuy Wheatgrass Extractor is another juicer that is great for wheatgrass and other leafy greens. It is stainless steel and has an ergonomically designed crank so that it turns smoothly. The grip is designed to fit comfortably in your hand to help avoid cramps.
It’s easy to put together and take apart, and it’s effortless to clean. There are quite a few parts, though, so it is time-consuming to have to do this daily. Since this juicer must be cleaned thoroughly after each use, you may want to consider how much time this will take up. It also doesn’t have a very long life span.
- Stainless steel
- Ergonomically designed crank and grip
- Easy to assemble/disassemble
- Easy to clean
- Time-consuming
- Needs thorough cleaning after every use
- Short life span
Buyer’s Guide: How to Choose the Best Manual Juicers
What you should look for:
1. Ease of use:
You would think that manual juicers are simple to use since there are no electronics involved, but that isn’t necessarily true. Some only require you to cut your food in half, while others require more steps. Read the box and find one within the guidelines of the amount of effort you want to put into getting your juice.
2. Food that can be used:
Not all juicers can juice all foods. Wheatgrass and other leafy greens cannot be juiced in a citrus juicer. Make sure the one you’re looking at can handle all the foods you’ll want to use it on.
3. The volume of juice:
Some juicers will produce more juice than others from the same fruit. Look for one that has a high yield. These will give you the most juice possible.
4. Cleaning:
Some juicers are one-piece units that are very easy to clean. Others require that you disassemble a bunch of parts. Those ones can be time-consuming since you have to take them apart and wash each piece individually.
5. Storage:
Not all juicers are the same size. Some are larger than others, so they will require a larger storage space. Some are larger but break down and pack inside themselves for condensed storage. Look at where you want to keep your juicer before you buy one, to be sure you have the room to store it.
