The most expensive home sold in Maine is located in Bar Harbor, which is home to two other homes on our list. This property is the former home of philanthropist billionaire David Rockefeller. The home sold for $19 million, and the proceeds went to charity.

It is unknown who exactly purchased the property. The only thing we know is that Gina Platt, a spokesperson on behalf of the realtor company, said that the sale fulfilled different parts of Rockefeller’s will.

The home sits on 15 acres of forest and lawn. The home even includes half a mile of coastline as well as a granite swimming pool. The home has a total of seven bedrooms, resulting in a whopping square footage of 5,000 square feet.


2. Raymond – $8.5 Million

Between this home and the previous one, Cumberland County has been showing insane increases in home prices over the last few years. Cumberland County is now becoming a rival of Bar Harbor as a result.


4. Bar Harbor – $4.5 Million

This home is unique because it is a Gilded Age summer cottage. It is complete with 19 beds, 15,000 square feet, nine and a half baths, and nine acres. As a true Gilded Age summer cottage, it was completed in 1910.


5. Bar Harbor, East of Eden – $4.1 Million
