The 5 Best Inflatable Hot Tubs – Reviews 2022
1. Intex PureSpa Plus Bubble Massage Set 28405E – Editor’s Choice
The Intex PureSpa Plus Bubble Massage Set 28405E is our editor’s choice for the best inflatable hot tub. This model has a 210-gallon capacity and has a built-in hard water treatment system that will help remove some of the harsh effects of hard water. Two easy-to-replace filter cartridges help keep the water free of contaminants. The pump and heating system is part of the hot tub and can raise the temperature to 104 degrees. Easy to grab handles help you get the tub into place or move it at a later date. The insulated cover helps preserve the water temperature, and also keeps bugs and other contaminants out of your pool while you are not using it.
Although this hot tub contains one of the best heating elements on this list, we found it a little slow to heat up, so preplanning will be necessary when using this brand to give it ample time to warm up the water.
2. Coleman SaluSpa 71 x 26 – Best for the Money
The Coleman SaluSpa 71 x 26 is our pick for the best inflatable hot tub for the money. This brand can seat up to four adults and features 60 massage jets that will help you relax while you use the tub. It self inflates, so there is no need to purchase an air pump, and it includes a handy chemical floater for holding and dispensing chlorine.
While we liked the lower cost of this spa compared to many of the other brands on this list, one of the areas that suffered in the cost-cutting is the heating element. We found this pool to take a very long time to get hot, and if the weather is cold, it may never reach the highest temperatures available from this hot tub.
3. Intex 28439E Greywood Deluxe – Premium Choice
The Intex 28439E Greywood Deluxe inflatable hot tub is our premium choice. This four-person tub has a 210-gallon capacity and features a wireless control panel that makes it easy to make adjustments from anywhere in the pool. The control panel allows you to set the temperature as well as on-off timers. You also control the tubs more than 140 high-powered massage jets. A built-in hard water treatment system helps eliminate the side effects of hard water.
Two premium foam headrests make relaxing in this hot tub extremely comfortable. It also offers multi-colored lighting to improve the visual aesthetic for a completely relaxing experience. The insulated cover will help keep water temperatures stable for a day and will help keep contaminants out of your water if you are away for a few days.
We loved this model, and the only thing we can complain about is that for the high price, it would be nice to fit two more people.
4. Coleman SaluSpa Miami AirJet 54124
The Coleman SaluSpa Miami AirJet 54124 is capable of heating the tub water to a temperature of 104 degrees. Two separate easy to replace filter cartridges help keep contaminants in your water to a minimum, and the included chemical floater help keeps your water sanitized. An air pad protector adds a layer of increased protection between the ground and your pool, and two easy-lift handles make it easy to place the tub where you need it.
We found this tub to be quite comfortable to sit and relax in, but the heater and thermostat are a weak point in the design. Like many of the heating elements on inflatable hot tubs, this one is a little underpowered to achieve the highest temperatures. One thing we found especially frustrating is the thermostat. If you reach the desired temperature, the heating element will shut off as expected, but it will not turn back on until the temperature drops too low for the element to recover.
5. M Spa Model B-110 Silver Cloud
The M Spa Model B-110 Silver Cloud is the last model on our list, but there are quite a few impressive features included. It has a 184-gallon capacity and features 110 air bubble jets to help massage your muscles while you relax in the tub. This model comes with a built-in control box that’s easy to use. It allows you to make all of the necessary adjustments from inside the pool.
The biggest downside to this pool is the manual that accompanies it is hard to understand, which made it much more challenging to set up the pool than was necessary. Another problem we had was that at one point, one of our seals wore out, and we found it impossible to contact the company to order a new part.
Let’s look at some of the most important things to look for when purchasing a new inflatable hot tub.
One of the first things you are going to look at when choosing a new inflatable hot tub is the size. Most tubs are sold by how many people it seats, which is usually either four-person or six people. The water capacity can also let you in on how much legroom you will have if two pools hold the same number of passengers.
All of the hot tubs on our list come with the heating element included, but most inflatable hot tubs have an underpowered heating element. These tubs are made for convenience and portability. You will not get the same heating power that you would from a permanent tub. That said, all heaters are different, and we tried to note cases where the heater was exceptionally good or bad. You will need to be vigilant when shopping to ensure you get a heater strong enough for your tub.
We recommend looking for a tub that has a heater strong enough to get to the desired temperature within 72 hours.
Most of the inflatable hot tubs on our list use a durable three-ply material that is lightweight and flexible. Since adults primarily use these tubs, they can last several years before the liner gives out, but they are still prone to punctures, especially from dogs.
We recommend looking for a hot tub that includes a mat to place it on if you can find one.
A control unit is usually a separate unit that is attached to the hot tub, but it can also be built into the tub itself in some cases. The important thing to consider here is whether or not it’s easy enough for you to use and access all functions available. You will need to adjust the temperature, massage jets, and some include timers to turn them on and off automatically.
In the case of inflatable hot tubs, we recommend going with the smallest size possible due to the heating element usually being underpowered. A four-person tub will have a much easier time achieving the desired temperature than a six-person, and if you find one that holds less water, it will heat even faster. However, you want it to be comfortable with enough room.
We recommend our editor’s choice. The Intex PureSpa Plus Bubble Massage Set has a built-in hard water treatment system to help reduce the effects of hard water against the skin. It has a 210-gallon water capacity and an insulated lid to help reduce the strain on the heating element. The Coleman SaluSpa 71 x 26 is a great budget hot tub that seats four, self inflates and has 60 massage jets to help you relax.
We hope that these reviews and buyer’s guide have helped you learn a little more about these devices. Hopefully, you feel confidant about shopping around and will be happy with your decision. If you have enjoyed reading, please share these inflatable hot tub reviews on Facebook and Twitter.
